That is what my opening settlement offer is going to be. They could counter with anything, but it won’t matter. Here are all the pertinent facts:

I was holding my child. In my arms. The police then proceeded to take my child away from me without cause, without explanation, and without legal authority to do so. This would all be by the book, if it wasn’t for the small, almost insignificant fact that I was allowed to hold my child. Once I took possession of my child physically, they have to have a legal and legitimate reason to relinquish me of custody. They had none whatsoever.

They kidnapped my son under color of law.

I informed the FBI immediately and I’m contacting the ACLU tomorrow. One tiny mistake. They probably didn’t even notice they broke the chain of custody of my child, but they did and now they are super fucked. You can’t just come into my home and take my child from me for no reason. You can’t do it if I’m standing in a parking lot and you’re arresting the mother of said child. That has nothing to do with my rights as a parent of said child.

They are so fucked.

Maybe we will settle for less, but they are going to pay me and my son for every hour he remains out of my custody. They are going to pay big.
